ISSUES
The strength and richness of San Francisco lies within its communities and neighborhoods. When our neighborhoods become destabilized whether it be in communities being priced out, lack of support in small business, defunding of services, or a lack of protections and safety for our most vulnerable we begin to see the challenges our district is facing.
We are constantly being told that there is one solution over another to meet these challenges, but like many of you, I have found there is very rarely one solution to anything we tackle in this life. I have highlighted focus areas in my platform to explore in depth, but I want to reaffirm that I believe that many of these focuses overlap and intersect. Policies do not live in a vacuum - they are interconnected. Housing stability impacts education opportunities, health outcomes are closely related to wages. As your supervisor, I hope to employ balance to this role and look at every issue comprehensively and through the lens of strengthening and centering our communities, our neighborhoods, and the people of the 9th District.
As I talk to voters in District 9, what I’ve heard the most from other longtime residents is how disconnected they feel and how little ownership they feel over our neighborhoods.
